THE PROBLEM

THE CHALLENGES WE HAVE COMMITTED TO ADDRESS

In Uganda, agriculture accounts for about 24.1% of GDP, and 33% of export earnings providing employment to about 70% of the country’s working population. On the other hand, MSMEs are the engine of growth for the country’s economic development, innovation and wealth creation with 49% in the service sector, 33% in the commerce and trade sectors, and 10% in the manufacturing sector.
However, challenges which include the scarcity of skilled labor and limited access to finance hinder the participation of the youth in these sectors fostering failure to realize their full potential in creating decent employment opportunities, driving economic growth, and ensuring profitability.

  • 1.Limited access to finance
  • 2.Unemployment
  • 3.Climate change resilience & adaptation
  • 4.Access to land & Decent affordable housing
